Workshop “Decentral Databases for Logistics in the Medical and Health Care Industry” with Tec4med on December 5, 2019, in Frankfurt
The Frankfurt School Blockchain Center and Tec4med are offering a hands-on workshop on the topic “Decentral Databases for Logistics in the Medical Industry” on December 5, 2019, in Frankfurt. What is the content of the workshop?
Currently, the data of the logistics chain is managed centrally by the main contractor. However, logistics consists of many smaller units that interact with each other and forward goods and data. This is currently done partly via the central database of the main contractor with many media discontinuities as a source of errors. Here we think a decentralized solution could minimize errors and enable new use cases.
We are planning a hands-on-workshop for blockchain enthusiasts and people who are interested in making a contribution to the blockchain sector. Basic blockchain knowledge is required in order to participate in the discussions.

The results will be added to an EU report for our Blockchers project and presented in front of the EU to improve and reform EU policies.
Blockchers is a new Horizon 2020 project which will facilitate the revolution of distributed ledger technologies, DLTs, across European SMEs. We are managing a fund of 750,000€ aimed at financing real-world use cases across the EU of blockchain technologies in traditional sectors. Who is leading the workshop?
Martin Voigt is the Managing Director of Tec4med Lifescience GmbH from Darmstadt. The young start-up with meanwhile 15 employees develops disruptive IoT trackers and further hardware for logistics. Martin studied mechanical engineering at the TU Darmstadt and worked in the logistics industry for several years before founding his company.
