Executive summary

At Frankfurt School Blockchain Center (FSBC), we are hiring 3 x 50% positions for June 2022, July 2022, and August 2022. Job position can partly be compared to a trainee/association position in a consulting company or other corporation: project management, business development, research, consulting etc.

Ideally, we are searching for smart young tech-savvy people that have a finished Bachelors’ degree or a finished Masters’ degree. Preferred fields: mixture between business and computer science; or tech-savvy business people. Students of the Frankfurt School can study part-time while working for the FSBC. Requirements: tech orientation, blockchain knowledge, some business development capabilities, both professional (i.e., excellent) level of German and English language. A residence in Germany is required. Gender and age are of course irrelevant. So, what we are not searching for are interns or working students (in German: Werkstudenten) but rather standard junior positions.

Gross annual salary is matching standard academic salaries of German universities, which is ca. 50k for 100% (that is full time, so around 160 hours per month), so we pay 50% of this because it is a 50% position. This is standard for research assistants at German universities, therefore we can be transparent here.

Why 50%? Because we encourage our employees to do exciting things with the other 50%: founding a company, being freelancer, doing a Master in Management (MiM) or Master of Finance (FoM) study program, doing a Bachelors, doing a PhD thesis in parallel — whatever suits your career best.

Where did the FSBC alumni go? FSBC employees having moved on with their careers such that our alumni founded startups (e.g. Rudy Capital, Exaloan), joined crypto startups, companies in the financial sector (e.g. Börse Stuttgart, Hauck Aufhäuser Lampe) private equity companies, consulting companies. What are we doing at the Frankfurt School Blockchain Center?

At this point in time, we are the number one university think tank in Germany that — in particular — focuses on blockchain and finance. The FSBC is a think tank and research center focused primarily on investigating the implications of blockchain technology and crypto assets. In addition to general research and prototype development, the FSBC serves as a networking hub for managers, start-ups, and experts to exchange knowledge and best practices. The FSBC also organizes educational opportunities for both students and executives, including on-campus courses, workshops, and conferences.

What is the focus of the FSBC? Currently, the FSBC is focusing on crypto assets, digital securities, the digital euro, CBDCs, tokenization of assets, decentralized finance (DeFi) and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

What projects are being ran by the FSBC? Specifically, we operate the Crypto Assets Conference (CAC), the DLT Talents program to empower women in the blockchain space, and the DeFi Talents program for education in the DeFi sector. Further, we have co-founded the Digital Euro Association (DEA), the International Token Standardization Association (ITSA), INTAS.tech as a consulting company for the digital assets space, and the DEC Institute as an organization certifying executives’ blockchain knowledge.

Ihr Profil: Wir richten uns an Kandidaten mit erfolgreich abgeschlossenem Bachelor- oder Master-Studium der BWL, Wirtschaftswissenschaften, Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen, Wirtschaftsinformatik, Informatik, Mathematik, Physik o.ä.; idealerweise konnten Sie erste Erfahrungen im Bereich Blockchain-Technologie oder Kryptowährungen sammeln. Sie haben Interesse an Themen wie z.B. Technologie, Entrepreneurship, Geschäftsmodelle, Unternehmensberatung, Business Development, Marketing und verfügen über exzellente Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift. Sie haben Freude am Verfassen von Texten und Manuskripten und zudem Erfahrung bzgl. Management von Projekten. Idealerweise haben Sie ein Faible für Business Development, Marketing und Entrepreneurship und besitzen eine hohe Eigeninitiative, Freude an konzeptioneller Arbeit und arbeiten gerne in einem internationalen Team.

Ihre Aufgabe: Sie kümmern sich um Korrespondenz, Kontaktaufnahme und Informationsaustausch mit Unternehmen, die blockchain-relevante Initiativen vorantreiben (z.B. Startups, Mittelstand und Konzerne aus allen Branchen; ggf. auch Hochschulen). Weiterhin arbeiten Sie bei Beratungs- und Forschungsprojekten mit, z.B. Studie zu Geschäftsmodell, Vergleich von Blockchain-Infrastrukturanbietern, Spezifikation von IT-Projekten. Sie helfen bei Trainings oder Workshops und nehmen dort idealerweise auch eine lehrende Rolle ein. Sie unterstützen bei der Vorbereitung von Vorträgen oder halten diese möglicherweise selber. Sie verfassen kurze Texte oder arbeiten an längeren wissenschaftlichen Manuskripten in deutscher oder englischer Sprache. Ferner unterstützen Sie unser Marketing und unsere Kommunikation (offline und online) und wirken letztlich bei der Beantragung von Förder- oder Drittmittelprojekten mit, wo Sie gerne auch eigene Ideen für derartige Projekte entwickeln.
